    Cabin Innovations

The Maverick may be smaller in size than Ford's other trucks, but that doesn't mean its ambitions are kept in check. Inside the 2025 Maverick is some of the best tech Ford's engineers have ever created. This includes a modern suite of Ford's most prominent driver assistance features and a host of exciting technological advancements in the form of versatile infotainment centers with groundbreaking software installed from the get-go.

Ultimately, the 2025 Maverick is a large step from its predecessors in many ways. Most notably, the available SYNC 3 system from last year's model has been eliminated in favor of SYNC 4 across the board. The smallest screen size has also been removed from the lineup; this means that even the base 2025 Maverick has the best connectivity features and is fitted with the massive screen it missed out on the previous year.

Inside every 2025 Maverick—even the base trim—is a large 13.2-inch infotainment interface. Because it's a SYNC 4 system, each 2025 Maverick comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The upgrade with the new and improved infotainment center also includes over-the-air updates, so you can expect the latest security patches and feature updates any time you start your car in the morning. This wasn't possible with the SYNC 3 system from the previous year.

    Safety Features

Ford Co-Pilot360 suite comes standard with the 2025 Maverick and can be expanded with extra features on the higher-end trims. The most basic iteration of Ford Co-Pilot360 includes a rearview camera and Auto High Beams, which turn on and off automatically, depending on the time of day and traffic, to assist in your visibility while not blinding other drivers.

Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking is standard, so your 2025 Maverick knows if it's moments from colliding with another vehicle and stops beforehand so long as you're traveling within the speed of its operating threshold. Other features available on the lower trims (or standard on higher trims) include Lane-Keeping Aid, Lane-Centering, and Lane Departure Warning, which provide alerts and slight steering assistance to keep you traveling in the correct lane.

Select driver assistance features are only available on select trims. The 360-degree camera (with Trailer Reverse Guidance) is optional on the Lobo trim and standard on the Lariat and Tremor but not available for the lower two trims. Meanwhile, Hill Descent Control is strictly available for the XLT trim.

    Cabin Amenities

The Maverick is Ford's most cost-effective truck. Despite the low starting price, the 2025 Maverick has some of Ford's best features, including standard amenities that boost comfort and promote conveniences. The most affordable seating arrangement for the 2025 Maverick includes a 6-way manually adjustable driver's seat and a 4-way manually adjustable co-pilot seat. Six adjustment points mean you'll easily find a position that allows easy and comfortable driving regardless of your height and reclining preferences. As for the co-pilot, it's a great inclusion that boasts better flexibility than generic 2-way manually adjustable seats.

Better seats are an option for 2025 Maverick owners, depending on which trim they buy. A step above the standard seats is an 8-way power adjustable driver's seat and a 6-way manually adjustable co-pilot. Both are heated and include a 4-way headrest. These adjustable headrests remain optional, even if you purchase the top-tier trim. However, the top-tier trim also has the most comfortable seats for the Maverick, with ActiveX upholstery (a high-quality leatherette), 8-way power adjusting, and power-lumbar support.

Driving comfortably can be difficult if weather is a factor. Some mornings may be far too cold for your liking, or you may not be a fan of heat waves. The 2025 Maverick has a great temperature control system in Ford's dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control. With this, you can focus on your comfort while the passenger seated next to you focuses on theirs, with dedicated climate controls treating that side of the cabin as an independent zone that won't overlap with yours.

Automotive engineers are constantly challenged to improve quality-of-life features. The goal is to reduce the effort required to handle various tasks or sometimes fix a problem that many drivers may not know they have. For example, if you've never owned a vehicle with a wireless charging pad, now's the time because the 2025 Maverick offers one, so you don't need a cable to get a quick battery boost.

    Exterior Utility

Convenience features are also found outside the cabin. A simple yet effective convenience feature is the power-locking tailgate, which ensures your tailgate is locked shut when you press the lock button on your keyfob or from the driver's seat. Standard bed tie-downs also keep cargo secure, with six included with the base trim and ten with the highest-tier trim.

The 2025 Maverick comes standard with the Multi-Position tailgate, a special tailgate that does more than open and close one way. With the Multi-Position tailgate, you can open it either fully or partially, and it also features a flat work surface that's perfect for putting your laptop or clipboard on. It's convenient to have such variability in lowering your tailgate because you can store lengthier cargo with the bonus of a makeshift load stop.

A tailgate is nothing without ample storage behind it. The 2025 Maverick has impressive cargo space for its size, and the lack of competition in this segment makes any Maverick an easy recommendation for someone looking for a spacious compact pickup truck. Each trim comes standard with a 4.5-foot bed, which has 33.3 cu.ft. of space.

    Five Configurations

The 2025 Ford Maverick is available in a handful of trim configurations. With the base XL trim, you'll have access to both powertrain options, whether you opt for the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine or, if you want a hybrid truck, the 2.5L I-4 HEV powertrain.

The turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine pairs with either an 8- or 7-speed automatic transmission with the choice of front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The hybrid powertrain pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) in FWD. With the turbo engine, the 2025 Maverick XL outputs 238 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque with a maximum towing capacity of 4,000 lbs, while the hybrid powertrain outputs a combined 191 hp between its I-4 engine and electric motor.

The XL is a great choice for budget-minded shoppers because it matches the same performance and cargo space as the higher-tier trims. It's not your average everyday cargo bed either, as the 2025 Maverick XL uses the FLEXBED storage system, affording you more flexibility in how you section off cargo in the bed. With the XL trim, other aspects of your Maverick match the pricier trims, too, like the same SYNC 4 infotainment center and Ford Co-Pilot360.

One step above the XL is the XLT, which gives you more resources to expand or use your truck's capabilities to your advantage. This is especially true in areas where other trucks may have trouble. For example, the XLT comes standard with ten tie-downs and a Class II trailer hitch with an accompanying 4-pin connector to ensure the trailer is synchronized with your vehicle's brakes and turn signals.

The available FX4 Off-Road Package is a great choice for XLT drivers who occasionally leave the beaten path and seek adventure. Thanks to all-terrain tires, a larger radiator, skid plates, a fine-tuned off-roading suspension, and features like variable drive modes and Hill Descent Control, this package helps make the Maverick a savvy off-roading contender.

The Maverick Lobo is brand-new for the 2025 model year, and it's designed with luxury in mind, both in looks and handling. Inside the Lobo are beautiful ActiveX leatherette seats with green accents that give it a sharp appearance not found on the other trims. This green stitching extends around the inner side of the steering wheel, which helps unite its aesthetic into something truly awe-inspiring.

The Lobo's brakes are also tuned for excellent performance and provide exceptional stopping power. Ford's engineers have focused on an upgraded suspension and how well the vehicle steers, as the Lobo provides a smooth experience around corners. The Lobo also comes with paddle shifters behind the wheel, and in the exclusive Lobo mode, you can manually switch gears to make driving more interesting and fun whenever you want.

The Lariat is the next trim up, which is where the Maverick begins to feel unmistakably premium, both in comfort and features. The Lariat comes standard with a power-adjustable driver's seat, an upgraded collection of standard safety features, and a 360-degree camera that shows you your full surroundings, along with digitized lines on the screen to assist in reversing up to a trailer to ensure you align perfectly with the hitch.

If you buy the Maverick Tremor, you get the best off-roading experience in a compact pickup truck. The Tremor is brand-new for 2025 and is a fantastic trim that expands the truck's performance on paths less traveled. With the Tremor, your Maverick has a specifically designed suspension with specialized shocks tuned for off-roading, better ground clearance than the other trims, and an Electronic Locking Rear Differential comes standard. The orange accents tastefully placed around the exterior help give the Tremor an athletic and outdoorsy appearance.
