Exterior Design & Style

The 2026 Ford Bronco recalls a time when vehicles were square, rugged, and tough. The majority of the Bronco comes standard with a 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine, though it is available with a 2.7L EcoBoost I-4, which comes standard on the Stroppe Edition trim, for a little more raw power. The 2.3L engine delivers up to 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, with either a seven-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. The second engine in the lineup, the 2.7L, provides drivers with an additional 30 hp and 90 lb-ft of torque, for a total of 330 hp and 415 lb-ft.

Ground Clearance & Off-Road Capability

Depending on the trim level, the Ford Bronco is available in two- or four-door configurations, which is reflected in its ground clearance. The two-door variant has 8.3 inches of ground clearance, compared to 8.4 inches for the four-door configuration. As well, off-road dedicated trims equipped with the available Sasquatch Package have an enhanced ground clearance of 11.6 inches with the two-door setup or 11.5 inches with the four-door variant. Max water fording stays the same across the 2026 lineup, with up to 33.5 inches, which means you can definitely utilize your Bronco to traverse smaller bodies of water, such as creeks, streams, and large puddles.

Open-Air Design & Customization

Drivers will have the option of a hard or soft top, so if you're looking to modify your Ford Bronco and want an easy way to do so, this is the way to go. A soft top lets you take the top down in good weather and enjoy better views, while a hard top provides better protection during seasonal weather. You can also take the doors off, if you wish, to truly immerse yourself in nature and experience open-air freedom. If that's intriguing, you may want to invest in a two-door Bronco to make your life easier. Overall, the 2026 Ford Bronco combines rugged capability with customizable features, giving drivers a stylish, versatile SUV ready for both on-road comfort and off-road adventure.

Safety Features & Ratings

Many of the driver-assist and safety features for the 2026 Ford Bronco come standard, like the Safety Canopy Side-Curtain and Rollover Sensor, an Individual Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and Personal Safety System. You'll also have access to a rear-view camera, AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control), trailer sway control, and a perimeter alarm. These will let you drive with confidence, knowing your Bronco has your back no matter how rough the terrain gets or how long you've been exploring.

Standard Driver-Assist Technologies

Driver-assist features are included with most Bronco trim levels, such as pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping system, BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert, and more. These features will make your time behind the wheel safer, whether you're on the highway, dealing with inclement weather or poor road conditions, or off-road, climbing rocks and logs. Nearly all of these come standard across trim levels, with some optional features available if you want to take customization a step further, or if you have a particular driver-assist feature that appeals to you.

Safety Ratings & Real-World Protection

The non-profit scientific and educational organization IIHS-HLDI (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety-Highway Loss Data Institute) has rated the Ford Bronco since it returned in 2021. The organization provides authoritative vehicle ratings and has given it an overall Good (highest) rating, especially in driver-side protection, the structure and safety cage, passenger-side protection, driver and passenger injury measures, and headlights. What this all means is that the Bronco is overall a very safe vehicle, particularly when it comes to standing up to any unexpected collisions and protecting passengers and the driver alike. If you're looking for a safe vehicle from which to explore off-road paths, the 2026 Ford Bronco is an excellent option for the cautious driver or someone with limited off-road experience. The variation of driving modes available is also helpful when navigating terrain like dirt, gravel, mud, and snow.

Interior Features

If you're looking for a vehicle that can adapt to your day's activities, the 2026 Ford Bronco is a great option thanks to its removable doors and roof. This also means the interior is equipped with durable materials that can withstand outdoor elements, such as marine-grade vinyl, which comes standard in the higher trims. Not only can you expose the interior to the elements, but it will also be easier to clean than typical microfiber upholstery. When your vehicle is easy to clean inside, it takes a lot of the pressure off exploring, since you know you can wipe down any mud, dirt, leaves, or spills that happen to make their way into the cabin during your adventures.

Spacious Seating & Passenger Comfort

There's enough seating for four or five individuals, depending on whether you choose the two-door (four seats) or four-door (five seats) Bronco, and even adults sitting in the back will find that there's plenty of legroom. Everyone can enjoy the wide seats and additional space, relax, and get comfortable. The Bronco's two-door configuration is only slightly smaller in the second row, by less than an inch, so passengers will still find a roomy interior without feeling cramped in the back. This is excellent news for those who like to go on long treks over winding mountain roads, through forests, or around the lake.

Technology & Everyday Convenience

With tough materials made to withstand plenty of adventuring, you might think that the Bronco is just a rough-and-tumble vehicle ready to go mudding, but this isn't the whole package. Ford has managed to strike a balance between hardy materials and comfort and convenience features for daily driving. This means you'll find plenty of space to keep your snacks and drinks, USB ports to charge your phones and tablets, and make a fast connection to your favorite podcast or playlist thanks to wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. There's also an optional 12-speaker sound system from B&O if you really want to up your audio enjoyment. This combination of rugged durability, spacious seating, and modern technology ensures the Bronco's interior is just as ready for everyday comfort as it is for your next outdoor adventure.

Technology

The 2026 Ford Bronco comes equipped with a variety of driver-assist features as well as technology that will enhance any journey.

Infotainment & Audio Experience

Most notable is the 12-inch touchscreen infotainment center, which makes it incredibly easy to navigate, find your adventure playlist, and utilize your apps for a range of tasks. Having a larger infotainment system means you won't have to squint to find what you're looking for, and you'll have an easier time finding your way around the system. Pair this with either the standard seven-speaker stereo system or the optional B&O 12-speaker system, and you'll find yourself having an incredibly fun time behind the wheel. Ford's SYNC 4 software is installed in the infotainment center. It provides software updates when needed and lets you connect your phone so you can use your favorite apps, such as Spotify, Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps, Audible, and more. You'll also be able to get traffic updates, news, and your favorite radio stations, all with voice commands, so you will always know what to expect, no matter where you're going.

Connectivity & Entertainment Features

Other technology features that Bronco drivers will find helpful include the terrain management system (with at least five G.O.A.T. Modes, depending on the trim level you choose) and the Ford Connectivity Package, which includes a 1-year trial. This package allows you to watch YouTube, HBO Max, Prime Video, and more while the vehicle is parked. You'll also be able to download games or take a Zoom call from inside the parked Bronco. These and other features help equip the Bronco to take on whatever adventure you can think of next, whether you're interested in finding a new favorite camping spot or picnic spot, hosting the next tailgate party for your friends and family, or you're thinking about finding a good vacation spot where you can fish by the lake, go hiking, or try off-roading in a new area.
