Ford gives you an incredible number of trim levels and options to choose from with the F-150, however, which can make it tricky to narrow things down and pick the one that is right for you. Although the base XL trim is great, we think the 2025 Ford F-150 STX beautifully represents much of what this truck has to offer. It is far from the highest trim level, however, as you can get more features with trims like the Lariat or Platinum, but the STX is a fantastic starting point for many drivers. One of the best things about the STX trim of the 2025 Ford F-150 is the way that it gives you flexibility and options without going overboard or being too restrictive. While Ford offers about half a dozen engines in total for the F-150, you find two options for the STX, keeping things simpler while still giving you the freedom to get the performance you want. There is the standard 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine, which generates 325 hp, 400 lb-ft of torque, and 8,400 lbs of towing strength. If you want enhanced performance, then there is a 5.0L V8 engine available with 400 hp that can handle 12,900 lbs of towing. While not as luxurious as something like the King Ranch trim, the STX still gives you excellent features inside and out. Details like 18-inch Gloss Black wheels and body-color bumpers help the exterior of this truck stand out compared to the starting trim. You get a pair of 12-inch screens inside the F-150 STX, plus more great standard and available features to enhance your time on the road. Performance
When looking for your next full-size truck, there is no better place to start than with the engine and body configuration. Ford makes a ton of options available with the 2025 F-150, including six different engines, three cab sizes, three bed lengths, and much more. One of the great things about the STX trim is that it streamlines things a bit for you by narrowing down some of these options rather than making everything available. That being said, you still have plenty of great features to choose from, so you never feel like you are missing out on anything with this truck. Looking at the engines, you have two options available for the STX trim. (If that seems too limited, then keep in mind that two of the six engines offered for the F-150 are only available for the Raptor variants.) To start, there is the standard 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine that provides an impressive 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. This engine can handle up to 8,400 lbs of towing when properly configured, and it comes with a ten-speed automatic transmission. If you want enhanced performance, then you can choose a 5.0L V8 engine that delivers 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque, paired with the same transmission. The V8 engine can handle up to 12,900 lbs of towing when properly configured. Rather than making you sort through a huge number of configuration options, Ford keeps things simple with the STX and gives you two great cab choices to pick from. You can get a SuperCab with two rows of comfortable seating inside, along with a 6.5-foot bed, which has more than 62 cu.ft. of cargo volume. If you want a more spacious interior, then there is a SuperCrew cab available that gives you more room inside, which is paired with a 5.5-foot bed that has about 53 cu.ft. of cargo space. Consider what kind of space you are looking for, and then choose accordingly to get the right truck to meet your needs.
Packages
Although there is a lot to like about the 2025 F-150 STX, one of the things that stands out most to us is how much freedom you actually get with this trim level. Beyond other options we are looking at (like engines, configurations, and interior features), Ford also offers a number of exciting packages for this pickup. This includes things like a Black Appearance Package that has black interior seating, Gloss Black wheels, and black running boards. You can also get a Tow/Haul Package to help make towing easier, which is perfect for work and play alike. One of two truly standout options, however, is the Lobo Package, which is strictly available for the 2025 Ford F-150 STX. The Lobo has the available 5.0L V8 engine as well as dual-exhaust pipes that not only enhance performance but also improve the sound of this engine, giving you a bolder presence everywhere you go. You also get Gloss Black inserts and a light bar for the front grille, along with a two-inch lowered rear suspension for a clean silhouette that looks sleek and stylish. And with 22-inch Gloss Black wheels, you get an incredible truck that is designed to turn heads as you drive each day. Style
Whether you are looking for a daily driver to get you through your daily routine or you prefer a pickup that is perfect for the weekend, the 2025 F-150 STX is a great choice. The STX is the second trim rather than the starting one, but we tend to find the features of the base XL trim a bit too restrictive for many drivers; it is best as an option for fleet trucks. So the STX is where we like to start when showing our customers what the F-150 has to offer, especially if you are not interested in too many luxury features and other amenities. The result is a powerful and sophisticated truck that has a lot to offer without feeling excessive. From the outside, the STX makes an immediate impression with its standard 18-inch Gloss Black wheels (though, as we have seen, larger wheels are available with certain packages). The STX has body-color front and rear bumpers rather than the standard black bumpers Ford provides with the XL trim (which, by the way, comes with 17-inch wheels). Ford also provides rear privacy glass on the STX, which is perfect for daily driving, and a defroster on the back for cold winter mornings. Looking inside, you get an excellent array of features in the F-150 STX, starting with Sport Cloth seating that is quite comfortable, paired with carpeted flooring and color-coordinated carpeted floor mats rather than the standard vinyl interior. You get a 12-inch productivity screen in the instrument cluster, along with a 12-inch SYNC 4 infotainment system with wireless phone connectivity; this makes it easier to get where you are going each day and use a variety of different apps with your phone. A six-speaker sound system is standard, along with Keyless Entry and more great features designed to enhance your time on the road.
