The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Truck

Unlike any of the previous iterations, this electric version only comes as a SuperCrew cab with the 5.5-foot bed. But that isn't where the differences stop. Instead of the typical gas engine, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is powered by one of the two lithium-ion battery packs that you can choose from. The Standard Range pack (estimated to include a 115 kWh battery) is expected to get an EPA-estimated range of 230 miles.1 The Extended Range pack (estimated to have a 150 kWh battery) offers an EPA-estimated 300-mile range.1

Ford estimates that you can charge the Extended Pack from 15 to 80 percent in just over 40 minutes with the correct equipment. You can also supply your home with 9.6 kilowatts of power during power outages if you use the standard 80-amp home charging station. Once the power comes back on, it will automatically switch your car back to charge mode. Ford says this incredible truck can power your home in Atlanta, GA, for up to an estimated three days when equipped with the Extended Pack. There is no other used Ford F-150 that can do that!

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Specs & Power

If you thought that a vehicle that gives off zero emissions would lack power, think again. The Standard Range battery pack gets an estimated 426 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. The Extended Range pack gets an insane 563 horsepower with the same amount of torque. That is 205 more pound-feet of torque than the PowerBoost hybrid V6 engine. Want more proof? The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning can go from zero to 60 mph in less than five seconds. Yup! You read that right. Plus, Intelligent Range technology helps your truck learn how much power you use in certain situations and conditions to calculate your range based on weather, traffic, towing, and more. This truck is one smart vehicle.

When properly equipped, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning towing capacity is 10,000 pounds, and the max payload is 2,000 pounds. These are excellent numbers for an electric truck. Selectable drive modes allow you to take control of your traction in different conditions. Toggle through Normal, Sport, Tow/Haul, or Off-Road modes based on the elements you are facing. Get all of your significant work tasks done while saving the planet. A win-win for everyone!

Other Exciting Specs & Details

A unique feature of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is the massive frunk (front trunk). You can get 14.1 cubic feet of lockable cargo room in the front of your truck. When you need to know info about your battery, you can take advantage of the easy-to-use FordPass app, which allows you to get important data and analytics on your system. The app will also alert you when your battery goes below 33 percent.

On the inside, enjoy a 12-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display. The truck is equipped with the Sync 4A infotainment system that can be controlled by a center knob. These screens give you all the information you need about towing, battery, scales, and more.

You can also turn your Ford F-150 Lightning into a generation. The Pro Power Onboard technology gives you 9.6 kW of power provided through 11 different outlets. There are four outlets in the frunk, four in the bed, and two in the cab. The bed has a separate 240V outlet for larger tasks as well.
