Why is the Ford F-150 such a popular truck? There are quite a few reasons. For one thing, while pickups were not always viewed as good vehicles for daily driving, the F-150 has proven that it can be the perfect choice for everyday activities. With its large cabin and advanced safety systems, the F-150 can be the ideal vehicle for families. But of course, we can’t forget about the bread-and-butter of this truck: its exceptional power and capabilities. If you are interested in a Ford F-150 for sale near Roswell, you probably want to know what is under the hood. So, let’s get to know this model and exactly what it can do.

Your Powertrain Options

One of the best things about the 2025 F-150 is that it gives you a ton of options. It comes in numerous trim levels with a wide assortment of engine choices. The three lowest trims—the XL, STX, and XLT—come standard with a twin-turbocharged 2.7L EcoBoost V6 that offers 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. If that is not powerful enough for you, all three can be outfitted with a 5.0L V8 that produces 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard in the Tremor and Lariat trims. The final engine option that is available on nearly every trim is a twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6 that puts out 400 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque.

Raptor, PowerBoost, & Lightning

Is that still not as much muscle as you would like? In that case, you will want to move up to the F-150 Raptor, which comes with a High Output twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6 with 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. For the most power, choose the Raptor R, which has a supercharged 5.2L V8 that generates 720 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque. And if you do not want a powertrain that runs strictly on gas, the 2025 F-150 has another option you will like: the PowerBoost hybrid that combines a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 and an electric motor. These combine to produce 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque. This setup is available in the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims.

While that hybrid model is a great green option, the 2025 Ford F-150 has you covered if you want something even greener. The F-150 Lightning is a fully electric truck, and just because it does not have a gas engine does not mean that it isn’t powerful. The base model has two electric motors and a 98 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that combine for 452 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque. The other option has two electric motors and a 131 kWh lithium-ion battery, and while the torque stays the same, it provides 580 hp.

Real-World Performance

While you may come for the power, what will make you stay is how the F-150 performs. This is a large truck, so you may be pleasantly surprised at how nimble it is. It handles sharp turns and corners with aplomb, and it even has great maneuverability when navigating tight spots. Plus, it has an excellent suspension that will smooth out even some of the bumpier roads you will find around Roswell. While rear-wheel drive is standard, you can get your truck with four-wheel drive. That latter drivetrain comes standard in the Lightning, and this model also offers fantastic driving dynamics, including responsive steering and a smooth ride. It is extremely quick as well and can get you from zero to 60 mph in under four seconds.

You will not have to worry about filling up any version of the 2025 F-150 too often, as this is not a thirsty truck. The base 2.7L EcoBoost engine offers an EPA-estimated 19 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. With the PowerBoost hybrid, you will get 22 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. Of course, the most efficient option is the F-150 Lightning, which offers 240 miles of range with the standard range battery and 320 miles with the extended range battery.

The F-150’s Capabilities

The Ford F-150 shines on the roads of Roswell and can also excel even when they end. There are two trims in particular that should intrigue you if you are eager to explore rugged land. The first is the Tremor, which has 33-inch all-terrain tires, skid plates, a locking rear differential, and tow hooks. In addition, it has an off-road-tuned suspension, specialized drive modes, and Ford Trail Control for greater confidence. If you want to take things up a few notches, consider the Raptor. In addition to its more powerful engines, it brings a wider stance, coil spring rear suspension, and adjustable long-travel Fox Racing Shox for controlled handling during high-speed off-road adventures.

Towing & Payload

In addition to the fun performance features of the 2025 F-150, this truck was truly created to get work done. If you will need it to tow or haul, you will love what it can do. If you choose the base 2.7L EcoBoost engine, your pickup will be able to tow up to 8,440 lbs and haul up to 1,775 lbs. Opting for the 5.0L V8, you will be able to tow 12,900 lbs and haul 2,225 lbs. To get the most out of the F-150, you will want the 3.5L EcoBoost V6, which will let you tow 13,500 lbs and haul 2,440 lbs.

Although it can’t quite match the 3.5L EcoBoost, the PowerBoost hybrid is no slouch in this area either, as it has a tow rating of 11,200 lbs and a max payload of 1,750 lbs. However, if you are buying a truck for work, you will want to steer clear of the F-150 Raptor. While it has plenty of power, its off-road suspension limits its towing and payload ratings. With the High Output 3.5L EcoBoost V6, the tow rating is 8,200 lbs, while the maximum payload is 1,400 lbs. With the supercharged V8, that max payload stays the same, but the tow rating increases to 8,700 lbs.

The all-electric 2025 F-150 Lightning can also be a great workhorse truck. The base XLT with the standard range battery can tow up to 5,000 lbs, but that increases to 7,700 lbs with the Max Trailer Tow Package. Extended-range models can tow 7,700 lbs, and opting for that package increases the rating to 10,000 lbs. This EV can also haul up to 2,000 lbs of payload.

Helpful Trailering Features

If you plan to regularly tow with your F-150—perhaps as part of your job—you will be glad to know that it can come with many features to make things easier for you. These include Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which makes backing up with a trailer a snap. All you have to do is turn a knob in the direction you want the trailer to go, and your truck and trailer will be moved in the right position. With Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, your truck will take over the steering, acceleration, and braking for you to make hitching simple. Dynamic Hitch Assist uses an on-screen guide to help you get your trailer hitched manually. Plus, with Smart Trailer Tow Connector, you can keep a close watch on your trailer, and if something is amiss—like an issue with its brakes or turn indicator lamps—you will get an alert. This feature also lets you monitor the health of your trailer battery.
